The Swiss Winery of the Year 2022 doesn’t just stand out for the exceptional quality of wines, but also for their commitment to innovation.
One of their creative projects is the Fortunella Rosécco sparkling wine. This exciting project showcases the ingenious use of Ouessant sheep, famous for their role in naturally tending to the vineyards by acting as eco-friendly weed control.
A few years back, Univerre introduced a pioneering approach by utilizing digital printing technology to produce the inaugural edition of Rosecco sparkling wine. This edition featured illustrations of various Ouessant sheep on the bottle, painted in playful colors, and these illustrations corresponded to the actual sheep, thanks to the artistic touch of Olivier Mounir.
THE FORTUNELLA ROSECCO SPARKLING WINE HAS EVOLVED INTO A PHYGITAL EXPERIENCE
For the 2023 edition, they’ve introduced something extraordinary: among the sheeps on the bottle, one has embedded an NFC tag that will make each bottle truly one-of-a-kind. Olivier Mounir adds: “With our sheep flock growing so much over 12 years, we needed new names, and that’s why we’ve got this special feature for Fortunella Rossecco 2023.”
The creation of the Cave du Rhodan Smart Bottle unfolded like this: When you tap your smartphone on the NFC tag attached to the bottle, it instantly redirects user to the Fortunella Rossecco landing page page. Here, a talking and dancing sheep warmly welcomes you to participate in the exciting task of naming Olivier’s new sheep. Customers are encouraged to unleash their creativity and propose names for these upcoming woolly companions. From all the submissions, names will be carefully selected for the next edition and eventually grace the labels of the forthcoming series of bottles.
